I do sell my artwork once in a while. And I
do take commissions every so often. Having said this, I need to make a couple of
points very clear. First, these pieces are extremely labor intensive.
I know that my videos make it all seem very fast and easy. But it's
neither. One of the problems with calling my work "paper mache" is that people have an image of a little pig made with balloons. Certainly paper mache couldn't cost very much they think. And paper mache is just a "craft". It's not considered fine art by many. Of course they are wrong. If you followed by blog recently where I built my paper
mache dragon pair, you will have noticed that it took my my entire
summer to build that project. If I ignore all art value (what price
my soul?) and just charge by the hour, that piece would be very
expensive. These pieces are all one of kind. No lithographs here. I
make these paper mache projects for myself, because I have to, because I love to sculpt.
Quite frankly, I'd prefer to keep all of my pieces, but I don't have the room.
Second, I only do commissions if the project turns me on, and I have the
time. Unfortunately, I'm a very busy person. I can only get around to a few commissions a year. Don't be offended if I love
your idea but say no anyway. Be patient and maybe I'll put you on my list.
Below are some paper mache pieces I'm currently willing to sell and a couple that
I've already sold (to illustrate my price range). These prices do not include shipping (which can also be expensive). You would have to add that to the price once shipping costs are determined.
Thank you for visiting. If you want to buy something, or if you have any questions, contact me.
